Highlights since high school
Family, friends, and new adventures in San Diego
After high school I attended UCSB where I graduated in 1990 with a degree in French. After graduation, I worked in LA for May Department Stores as an assistant buyer but after a year and a half of that I moved to Las Vegas to be with my future husband, Jim, whom I met at UCSB. I worked in purchasing for about five years at a major hotel & casino (The Sands) before moving on to food service sales (Nabisco) for the Las Vegas and Phoenix territories. Jim and I married in 1993 and had our first daughter in 1999. After nine years in the desert, we were itching to get back to the coast and moved to San Diego in 2001. I had my son just a few weeks after moving to SD and with my husband's crazy travel schedule and long work hours in the semiconductor industry I became a stay-at-home mom for many years. As the kids got older, I considered going back to work but we found out we were expecting another baby who is now 17 years old and a senior in high school.
We are lucky to have all three kids living in SD. My two oldest are grown and flown but I get to see them at least once a week. Jim and I enjoy getting together with friends, going to Padres games, catching a concert here and there, and travelling. I try and stay physically active every day whether it's working out, walking with friends, or hiking. I also recently started taking painting classes and playing Mahjong with friends. My husband retired in June and with our youngest graduating soon, we have a lot of fun travel adventures planned. Next stop, Tanzania 2027!
