Boomerang! Back in the Valley and Always on the Move.
Boomerang! I left Fresno at 17, certain I'd never come back! Forty years later, with a Bachelor's in Sociology from UCSD and an MD from Case in Cleveland, OH, I have one of the most inspiring, rewarding, and honorable careers I could imagine - at Valley Children's as a pediatrician caring for medically complex children; a residency program director, training our next generation of physicians; and Medical Director of our Center for Community Health, where I get to focus on social drivers and address the health disparities that plague our Valley - such as helping to establish the first medical-legal partnership in the Central Valley. I have four amazing adult children (scattered across California) whom I love to spend time and travel with whenever the opportunity arises - a psychiatrist, a rocket scientist, a statistician, and a musician/composer. I am a multiple years Board Director for the Central Valley Community Foundation and Board President of the Youth Orchestras of Fresno. If I'm not working or serving the community, you'll find me - literally - on the move.
